Preparation
Plants and scrubs close to the home or business are covered. We power
sand and finish sand the surface allowing the paint to stick better
and get rid of the loose chips of paint. We remove and replace the
non-structural trim or siding pieces that have become damaged or rotten.
Then, gentle, environmental friendly products are used to power wash
the exterior. This will remove any dirt, dust and mildew.
If you requested your deck
or driveway cleaned, it will also be done at this time.
Cleaning and Repair
All paint chips are cleaned up and the exterior is left to dry. The
appropriate areas adjacent to windows and doors will be caulked. If
necessary, new putty will be used around window panes to protect the
interior from moisture.
Painting
Prior to painting, non-paintable items (door knobs and handles,
external lighting fixtures, outside furniture, etc.) will be removed
or covered for their protection. Then, the bare areas will be oil
primed to get them ready for the new paint.
Usually two coats of top quality paints (
Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams
) will be used to ensure proper coverage and a long lasting "brand
new" look.
Setup
On a daily basis, plant beds and shrubs are cleaned and any empty
cans or garbage removed.
Once the job is completed, all external fixtures will be reinstalled
and outside furniture will be returned to its original place.
Inspection
On the last day of the job, we'll do a walk through together,
this will ensure that all the areas Admiral home improvements' crew
worked on were painted properly and that you're happy with the end
result.
Final touch ups are immediately done or scheduled for the following
day.
Before we leave, the leftover paint will be labeled and left with
you. If you ever need to touch up a spot in the future, you'll know
exactly which paint to use where.
